Announcements :

The East Windsor Lions Club celebrated 50 years of community and world service in May of 2003.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Lions and thinking about giving time and talent for service to the community and those in need, please call the Membership Chairman at 292-6848

There are no meetings during July or first dinner meeting in August.

The East Windsor Lions Club collects used eye glasses at the following locations: Broad Brook Post Office, East Windsor Senior Center, Warehouse Point Library-Post Office and Geissler's Supermarket, Vision Center at Walmart, Dr. Nowak Optometrist North Rd E.W., Dr. Colo's Optometrist Suffield and Agway on Route 83 Vernon.

Activities :

Fund Raising Projects and community activities:

Eye Screening at EW Senior Center Oct. 28, 9;30 till noon ages 40 and up, appointments not required.

Turkey Shoot Oct.19 to Nov. 23.2008

Roast Pork Dinner January 17, 2009 at the East Windsor High School.

Farmers Breakfast, March 22, 2009 at the East Windsor High School, So. Main St. East Windsor, serving from 8am to noon. Call 860623-0669 for info.$6.50 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, 12 to 3 yrs. $3.00 and under 3yrs is free.

Our Service Projects include:

The Lions Corner at the East Windsor Library (Funds for Large Print Books)

High School Scholarships

High School Leo Club

High School Close Up Foundation

Public Eye Screenings

Eye Glasses and Hearing Aid Collections

Fidelco Guide Dog support

Community Improvements

Support of youth athletics, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops and Police Explorers.

Lions Low Vision Center and Lions Clubs International Foundation.

In addition, the East Windsor Lions Club contributes annually to the American Diabetes Association, and many other charitable organizations.
