In what is believed to be the first such project undertaken by any Lions club worldwide, Tullamore members in association with Cusack Homes built and sold a superb 4 bed semi at Norbury Woods, Tullamore.

The idea behind the venture was that the club would source a site in the town and with support of local businesses supplying and sponsoring materials and supplies to actually build the house. From an early stage the support and enthusiasm received from business and community was outstanding and the final package included many novel extras and a fully furnished home.
Midland Simon Commuity, Tullamore Housing Association and Rights for the Elderly are set to benfit to the tune of Euro 120.000.

Suicide Awareness

Lions clubs Nationally have been involved in trying to increase awareness of suicide, particularilty among young people for a number of years.
