HISTORY/ LOCATION OF BONGAIGAON LIONS CLUB

Lions Club of Bongaogaon was inaugurated in the year1976by then District Governor lion Bir Kumar Mukherjee of undivided district 322-B. The club was sponsored by Lions Club Of Narangi with Lion J F Abrol as the extension chairman. Charter was presented to this Club in the year 1977 and lion P N harlalka was its Charter President. In the span of 27 years lions Club of Bongaigaon has served the community in various fields. Apart from projects like Oxygen Bank, drinking water, immunization of Children, the club has taken its main motto towards eradication of Blindness.

The club have constructed clinic on the small plot of land allotted by Govt. of Assam and carry out its service and health activities there.

The club has always been active in serving the community during natural calamities also. it has received due recognition from the Govt. authorities

Lionswap the ISP provider for Lions Web Sites has been set-up by the Lions of Turkey (MD118). Work on the programmes/script used to compile Web Pages has been the work of Dr. Enzar Tore of the Canakkale Lions, also of Turkey. The Lions Club of Bongaogaon consequently displays the national flag of TURKEY on their site as a sign of appreciation of their work/efforts.
