Send Email to Lionwap Admins. - Updated: November 1, 2001

    2. Can I attach a newsletter in MS Word or Adobe PDF format? - Top

No, You cannot - Updated: November 1, 2001

    3. How do I delete our page? - Top

You can't delete your webpage. Please contact us the through "Message Form To LionWap" and let us know.

If your Lions Club still exists, we recommend that you KEEP your LionWAP page.

    1. If your club got a new webpage - You can use your LionWAP page to AUTOFORWARD to the new website. That means that when someone finds your LionWAP page at a Search Engine; this will bring them to the correct location.

    2. If your club has re-organized, and someone else is doing publicity; please pass along the password so that the new person can take over where you left off. Again, it takes many months for search engines to properly classify your page - try to keep it going.

A web page is vital to your club. Even somewhat out of date; it is a starting point for a citizen in your town that wishes to make contact. For publicity, it is helpful. For communicating to your own club members, it will become vital, for basic information to your community - it is essential. - Updated: November 1, 2001

    4. Once uploaded, how do I display my photo? - Top

Use the new Photo Album feature at LionWAP to upload and display photos.

To show the actual photo on the web page, you can add it to the Activities
field, or Announcement field. The actual HTML code for each photo is
shown on your album as follows:

    <img src=http://www.lionwap.org/pictures/page1/prototype.jpg>

    5. How can I change Fonts? - Top

The FONT control in HTML can change size, fontface, color, alignment and other attributes. You will need a reference on using HTML code to see all of the variations.

To change the basic text that you have entered into the fields, you can easily use these basic attributes to Start and Stop the text formattting.

    Attribute start     text       end
    Bold        <b>  example </b>
    Underline <u>  example  </u>
    Italics       <i>   example </i>

In general, LionWAP fonts and sizes were selected to give you a way to make some adjustments. Keep in mind that the visitor has control over their own font size; and may wish to display your page in different ways. If you attempt to make your text too large or too small, you may be defeating their capabilities to display your page in a way that they can view it properly.

Be sure to test any special changes in formatting that you have added.

    6. How do I put links to other Lions Club on my page? - Top

First, I would not put too many, because they change without notice. Instead, add a link to the LionNet page in your area. I would also add a link to my state or country, or my District page. If you are truly twinned with a club and corresponding regularly, then do that too.

Let's say that you are from Connecticut. I recommend this procedure:

    1. Add a section at the bottom of your Activites field as follows:

    <p><b><u><font size="+1">Links :</font></u></b></p>

    <li>Connecticut Lions Web page - <a href="http://www.ctlions.org">www.ctlions.org</a>

    <li>LionNet Links to Lions Clubs in Connecticut - <a href="http://www.lionnet.com/united_states_ct.html">LionNet: CT</a>

    <li>Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Inc. - <a href="http://clerf.lionwap.org/">CLERF</a>

    This should appear as follows:

    Links :

  • Connecticut Lions Web page - www.ctlions.org
  • LionNet Links to Lions Clubs in Connecticut - LionNet: CT
  • Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Inc. - CLERF

    7. When completed, it hangs and there is no error. - Top

When these occur, your page will not save, but you do not get an error message.

In a very few cases, your email address as webmaster will not validate. It would be difficult for us to reach you if you do not have a valid email address. But some email addresses will not be validated, even though you spelled it correctly. To work around this, try an good email address on a different server. You can sign up for a free email address at yahoo.com or hotmail.com. Use that at your web page.

    8. I can't get into our page to EDIT. - Top

If you can see your club's page in the listings, then you have the USERNAME.

So if your page was named www.lionwap.org/prototype then your username is prototype. Here, the username is NOT case sensitive.

Your password is case sensitive. Be sure that you typed it correctly. If you cannot get that to work, then use the Forgot My Password page at www.lionwap.org/epass.html

From that point, you will have to wait until you get the email response. This might be as long as 24 or 48 hours, so please be patient.

If you DO NOT see your page in any of the listings, please contact us with all of the information about your page. We can verify if it still exists somewhere on our system.

Send email to enzar@lionwap.org or dan@lionwap.org

    10. How do i create a link to another web page? - Top

You can add the necessary HTML code to link to another webpage in either the Activities or Announcements field at LionWAP.
