SubjectSummer Camp Scholarship Inquiry
CommentDear Anacortes Lions Club,
I am seeking to find funds that could help my son attend summer camp. He and I live here in the city of Anacortes, although technically we are in the State Address Confidentiality Program. We are rebuilding our lives following a domestic violence situation that was dangerous to our well-being. I home school my son as a result of this which is very challenging as a single parent. In addition, I am attending school full time as I work towards one of my goals, a college degree in MIT Web Design. Financially, our life is a struggle although I have secured assistance for health, food, and shelter. My son has voice an interest in attending the camp he has been to as a family. To want to do this, for a week on his own, is monumental. Please contact me if this is something that you club might be interested in considering and if so, I will be happy to share more about the camp contacts. Please do remember the importance of our confidentiality as this is a small town and word travels very quickly. Respectfully, Dawn Bennett

CommentI have a behind the ear hearing aid that belonged to my husband, who passed away on 12/3. It was worn only a few times. Do you accept donations of hearing aids? If so, please advise where to send it. Thank you.
