SubjectFundraising Opportunity for the Lions Club
CommentDear Blytheville Lions Club:

The Harlem Ambassadors Show Basketball Team has performed special community events throughout the United States and 19 foreign countries. We have worked extensively with Lions Clubs and would be happy to provide references. You can learn more about us on our website at www.harlemambassadors.com

The Harlem Ambassadors feature a "Harlem-style" Basketball Show, including ball handling tricks, slam dunks and hilarious comedy routines. The Harlem Ambassadors are the largest provider of entertainment services to the military having performed at over 100 bases worldwide. Our team consists of men professionals with major college and pro experience. All of our players are college educated, drug-free, and positive in appearance. In addition to their basketball skills, they bring a message to the youth of the importance of staying in school and staying off drugs.

We will be touring through Arkansas and wanted to see if your Lions Club might be interested in a special fundraising event with the Harlem Ambassadors in January 2006.

Unique is that our featured comic performer is a woman player. She is a world class basketball player and a world class comedienne. She plays and competes against the men and represents a great role model for young girls.

Our fundraising package is complete for you and your organization to present a successful community event. I would be happy to also forward to you a package of references and our Promotional video. Please let me know if you are interested in learning more about our great fundraising plan.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Logue

SubjectWheelchair ramp and lift ramp for car.
CommentI am wondering if there is anyway that you could help my aunt and uncle that live in Blytheville with a wheelchair ramp and lift ramp for the car to carry the scooter. My aunt has lung cancer, osteoporosis (the doctors say there is nothing else they can do for this, that her back has so many cracks now that they can't tell what is new and what is old) and in May she had a heartattack and has a lot of damage to her heart. Her husband has emphysema. They live in a trailor and with there porch that is attached has steps that are kind of steep and my aunt is starting to have a hard time getting up and down those steps to go to her chemo and doctors appointment. They can't afford the cost of materials to build a ramp. A friend of the family called somewhere and got her one of the scooter chairs free but she can't use it to get in and out of the trailor without a ramp for her appointments and can't take it with her for appointments without a lift ramp on the car to haul it with her. I have also wrote to United Way but if you could see anyway at all to be of assistance to them, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Judy Wicklund

Subjecthelp with vision surgery
CommentMy son, is 33 and a firefighter, he wears contacts to correct his vision, He cannot see without corrective lenses, in fact his last exam yesterday the Dr said without corrective lenses his had no vision it was off the chart. Five years ago it was 20/400, The Dr. ordered his new contacts but in not sure they can make the strenght that he needs.
He works for a smaller city fire dept and that is all he has done and all he wants to do. He loves his job.
My question is does your organazation help with lasic surgery, if he would be a candidate? I believe his base income is around $22,000 a year.
Thank's for your input.
