SubjectThank you
CommentDear Lions,

I want to thank you for a wonderful meal and for your interest in Source Water Protection. As mentioned, we are waiting for the legislation to be introduced which is needed in order to move forward with the project. In the interim we are gathering technical data and educating people on the importance Source Water Protection. I will continue to update the Lions Club on our endeavors and once the legislation is introduced and we start having open houses, we hope that you will attend and voice your concerns.

I look forward to further discussions.

Subjectdonation request
CommentDear Lions club members:

We are starting a program in Walden called The Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program. This program would make information available to students to help them understand other options other than suicide. We are beginning in Walden and then will venture out into Sudbury. We are also in the process of becoming a registered charity.

The Yellow Ribbon program is a program that is worldwide. We are joining with the program to have access to their information and material. We have solicited our local businesses for a donation to begin this program, and to date have not heard from any. We believe that this program is something that our community needs. We feel that people have to talk about suicide with young teenagers - after is too late. In order to reach our goal and have this program available to the Greater City of Sudbury we are requesting whatever monetary donation you could spare.

We are not a registered charity and therefore cannot give you a receipt. We are presently awaiting our contract from The Yellow Ribbon Program and cannot open a bank account under that name until the contract is signed. If you find it in your hearts to help us fund this program cheques can be made payable to Ann Barbeau, 15 Simon Lake Drive, P. 0. Box 239, Naughton, Ontario P0M 2M0.

thanking you in advance.
ann barbeau

P.S. We also understand that you have many organizations to donate to, and fully understand if at this time if our request for funds is denied.

Any further questions can be directed at ajbarbo@vianet.ca or call me at 705-692-5966. There is also information available through the internet at www.yellowribbon.org and www.yellowribbon.ca.

SubjectGreeting from Chicago Central Lions Club
CommentGreetings Fellow Lion(s):

Chicago Central Lions Club, The Mother Club of Lionism, founded in 1917 by
MELVIN JONES, has created a web site at chicagocentralil.lionwap.org for
informational purposes as well as showing our Club trading pin for
trade or sale. We have received many comments of praise for the information about
Melvin Jones we have on our site. We are seeking to contact each Lions Club using the Web.
We welcome clubs to visit our web site and make comments. We are looking forward to your
visiting Chicago in 2007 for the International Convention. (Check the convention link on our site)
