| Comment | Lion Einarsona nd the Lions of the Lions Club of Antigonsh, My name is Shannon Allen. I am the Regional Program Manager for Best Buddies Canada. We are a non-profit organisation that matches students to individuals with intellectual disaibilities. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of these individuals by increasing their access, inclusion and participation in their community. March is Best Buddies Month and to offer our endless thanks to the student volunteers that make this program the success that it is, I and a collegue who is based in Halifax, have organised the 1st Annual NS and PE Friendship though Music Festival to be held at Dalhousie University this coming Sunday the 9th of March. The event will host 3 bands that have donated their time and talent to our cause and will welcome chapter of Best Buddies from all over Nova Scotia and Charlottetown. In February I mailed a letter about this event requesting your help in bringing the students and individuals with intellectual disabilities to Halifax from St Francis Xavier University. I hope te letter found you well. I would just like to touch base with you about the request that we made. The event is less than a week away and everyone is very exited and anxious to be able to finally meet chapters like their own that work very hard to make frindship a right and not a priveledge. | Comment | I know my grandfather came from Antigonish and for many years traveled there from Massachusetts to compete in the games. I live on Cape Cod and would love to hear from possible distant relatives. I have never been there but have thought about it for years. |
