| Comment | Last April and May, my family and I had the opportunities to visit Hendersonville when my husband was diagnosed with fast acting cancer. In May when we were attending the funeral, a gentleman recognised my charter member Lion pin and introduced himself and his wife as Lions. Lion Wendell and Lion Deanna made the rest of our visit more enjoyable and gave my daughter (Lion Julia) and step-son Robert the opportunity to meet their neices for the first time. The next day, Wendell and Deanna invited us out for lunch and we had the opportunity to meet Dorothy also. We wound up spending extra time in Hendersonville thanks to their excellent hospitaltity. I truly feel that this would have never happened if not for the extention of the "hand of friendship through Lionism". |

| Comment | For several years now I have helped to raise money for the children through the Film Festival. I enjoy doing this and it gives me a warm feeling knowing that I can help the community in this manner. The Lions Club helped my husband to get a pair of glasses so that he could see to work. Then you helped him get a hearing aid so that he would be able to hear. Thank you so much. Since my husband passed away in June of this year, I felt that it was only right to donate the eye glasses and hearing aid to the people who helped him to see and hear again.
