| Comment | I am writing to you because my fellow officer, friend, and teammate, Sgt. T. Russell was recently the victim of a home invasion and was shot in the leg by an assailant, resulting in the amputation of his left leg. Sgt. T. Russell is a public servant, a member of the Emergency Response Team, and someone we could trust. As his bills pile up, (such as approx. $12,000 for the airlift, etc.) we find ourselves falling short in helping him, his children, and his fiancé. Due to his sacrifice and courage, his family remained safe from harm, which was his main goal. We have helped him as much as we could, so we are reaching out to the community for their help. His son is 10 years old and starting school, in need of quality, up to date prescription glasses. I am writing to you in need of advice on prescription eye glass donations. I know the Lions Club is a great charitable organization that can give us advice and assistance in meeting some goals the officers have made to contribute to the family. Please help us help him. The cost is $700 and I work part time and my son the babies father has been laid-off work. they were able to pay for about half with their tax return, but they need the rest. | Comment | I found an ad in my AAA club newsletter regarding sight night. I ordered a kit and I have well over 100 pairs of glasses that a neighbor gave me as well as approximately 30 pairs I personally collected on sight night. Can I bring these to you please. |
