CommentHi I have been advised to get in touch with you to see if there is anyway you can help. I have been invited to attend a conference in New Orleans in october but am having difficulty in accessing funding to attend. The Conference is the National Domestic Violence Conference and my research is around The health Impacts of Parent Abuse. As a single parent it is not possible for me to attend the conference without some sort of financial or in kind support. As yet, I have been unabe to gain additional funding. Conference fees have been paid by my employer. I am hoping to raise funds for travel and accommodation. A new Chapter in Ellemere Port UK have suggested I write to you with a view to looking for in kind support in the form of accommodation. I have never done anything like this before, however my research paper is one of a kind as it explores mothers perceptions of violence from their children ( sadly a rising phenomena). It adds their voices to an under researched area. In return for accommodation I would be delighted to present my findings to your members and discuss the work I have done. My daughter, Lily Roark, is interested in returning to Camp Victory, the Lions Club sponsored Diabetes Camp in Leesville. She needs a sponsor for this, and I was hoping that someone from your organization might be willing to sponsor her. This only requires a signature on a form. I am with the Alden NY Lions Club and we like all other clubs have received request for financial help for the victims of the flooding. I personally am not for any cash contributions that go through numerous hands before it gets to the attended receivers or victims. We have a local homeless shelter that is willing to send a semi truckload of good used assorted clothing to the area if money can be raised to pay for the trucking. Our club would look into a way of raising funds for this if the need is there and local Lions clubs would head the distribition of the clothing. If this is a imediate need, please let me know and I will start to work on it although other area clubs may already be sending financial contributions from the request.

My heart goes out to you all in the horrific disaster that you have sufferred.

With watching all the pictures on UK tv it must be hard for you all.

I feel so helpless that i cant be with you and have to experience what you all are going through, However i wish that hope and our thoughts are with you.
