CommentI am interested in finding out what your club does on the Sunshine Coast. Are you involved in charity work? I am sure I haave seen your club in action somewhere but I can only recall where you have the concesssion stand at Hackett Park in the summer.

There is a student lead peace conference being held in Belgrade, Serbia over March break which my daughter Cathy Jares and her friend Husan Jan Khan have an opportunity to participate in. The focus of the conference is increasing safety and peace in school, communities and the world. This would be a hugely valuable lesson in social responsibility. They need to raise $2500 each .. and in very quick order since the conference is March 12 and travel plans are alreay being made. Two Elphie students and their moms are already planning to attend. Since Chat just became the first school on the Coast to join Peaceful Schools International, Cathy and Husan would like to represent their school. Would the Lions consider sponsoring the girls? They only just found out about this, and that's why the short notice. They have $1000 already and we have approached Rotary and many community members, family and friends. On their return, the girls would be sharing the experience and what they learned with students and the community. They have a letter which could be sent to you and would even come to talk to you.
