OPEN HOUSE: - If you are interested in learning more about what the Parkrose Lions is all about come to our open house on October 6, 2004 during our regular meeting time 6:30 pm at the Royal Gardens Resturant. MORE LIONS HANDS MEANS WE CAN HELP MORE PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. Parkrose Lions would like to welcome our newest member Rick Carr into our club. On June, 16 Past District Governer Sunny Pulley installed the new officers of the Parkrose Lions. As always, Sunny brought humor and wonderful challenges to our new officers. That same night, we had our New Member Induction Ceremony, which was performed by Parkrose Lion, Tiny Lidstrom. We would like to welcome new members, Brenda Anderson, Ursula Conley, and Rica Trommlitz. Congratulations to our newest Lions. We will be celebrating 75 years of service to our community in 2006. ORAL HALL - August 8, Parkrose Lions will be cooking chicken at Oral Hall for the annual fundraiser. ROSSI FARMS -July 10, the Parkrose Lions will be cooking the chicken at the Rossi Farms Barn Bash, 122nd and Shaver. Dinner starts at 6pm, cost is $10. Money raised goes to Parkrose School Activities. ROSE FESTIVAL CRUISE-IN -June 27, The Rose Festival Cruise-In was held at the Parkrose High School. The Parkrose Lions sold snow cones and elephant ears. We also also had an information area and collected signatures for the charitable check off, for the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation. BENEFIT CONCERT -June, 19 the Parkrose Lions had our 2nd annual benefit concert featuring Michael Allen Harrison and Julianne Johnson, to raise money for our shoelift project. This is always a huge success, we raised enough money for 400 pairs of shoes for children in the Parkrose and Reynolds School District. We were so successful that we are making plans to work with other Lions clubs and expand the program even further. Our third annual shoelift concert is planned for June 2005, more information to follow. PARKROSE COMMUNITY FAIR -The Annual Parkrose Community Fair was held on June 5, at Parkrose High School. Parkrose Lions sold snow cones and elephant ears. We also had the Mobile Screening Unit (MSU) About 30 people received free screenings. EYE GLASS SORTING PARTY -The 3rd Saturday of every month at Truck Wholesale Parkrose Lions has our Eyeglass Sorting Party for The Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, at 9am.
