The Sayreville Lions Club received a Certificate of Achievement at the State Convention for our support of youth in the community. Programs include the High School awards and scholarship, the Peace Poster Contest and support of the Girl Scouts who assist at our pancake breakfasts. We are looking into ways of adding our website address to our roadside signs.

Second reading of the slate of officers proposed by the Nominating Committee was made at the May 6th meeting. Slate was approved on unanimous vote of the members. We will be providing three awards and a scholarship to the members of the 2008 graduating class of SWMHS selected by the faculty.
Craig Hefelfinger Memorial Golf Tournament scheduled for August 16th. There is usually a large contingent of Sayreville Lions that attend and car pools can be arranged.
The proposed list of contributions to approved State projects and other charitable organizations was presented to the membership at the May 6th meeting. The proposal was adopted. Descriptions of the various projects are available on the NJ State Lions website.
