WAP (Wireless Aplication Protocol) is a new technology which enables the user to access the internet through a cellular phone that provides this service.

If you don’t have a WAP phone, you can use an emulator program through the internet and still access this page.

The 21st century is now starting with WAP: The average person can look at the wheel of the stone age, and only see the function of the wheel. But a knowing eye can see a lot more!

Let us give an example:
Have you ever watched Star Trek?
All the officers have a little gadget in their hands: it speaks, sees and if necessary, transfers it to the big screen up front! Well, that is a WAP gadget…There are other things that we didn’t see in Star Trek: they don’t do any shopping. If they did, we would have seen that, instead of credit cards, they used their WAPs. They don’t cook either; if they did, they would program their ovens also with their WAPs.

WAP or more developed models of WAP, will be personalized and will take the place of your secretary. Whatever you say out loud, it will perform. It will even be able to differentiate between the tones in your voice or your looks!

There will be no more radio, television, or personal databanks. The only electronic gadget around will be the WAP; and a large screen onto which you can project the image, if and when you want. You know that signatures are already outdated; electronic signatures are now legal.

In the 24th July issue of TIME magazine, there is a Siemens ad. It says, when there are 200 million shoppers, YOUR shop should be open. It conveys to the reader the idea that, future shopping will be on the Net, with mobile solutions. It also says, Internet and WAP should originate from the same source if it is to be fast and secure; and as Siemens, they can offer firms this service.

As Lions, in a world where Siemens can advertise to the future; we are not users but producers. While firms have to buy this service in order to stay ahead, we are developing our own applications.
