Mission Statement of Lions Club International: To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation. Lions Club Slogan: Liberty Intelligence Our Nations Safety Wichita Northwest Lions Club was chartered on Oct. 16, 2002, with 42 chartered members. The club is a part of The International Association of Lions Clubs-Lions Clubs International. Our club is honored to have a Past International Lion Club President--Dr. William Wunder as a current member. Membership is open to men and women of legal age and good reputation in the community. Wichita Northwest Lions Club donates time, collected items and funds to a variety of Local, State and International agencies. Currently, two major fundraisers fund some of the events during the year. One is a Breakfast/Pancake Feed during the NBC (National Baseball Congress) World Series Tournament-'Round the Clock Baseball' weekend, in the month of August, located at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita. The other is a National Lions Club Fundraiser activity in the month of October called "Candy Day".
